Nicholas on the Issues:

  • Living and Breathing Leesburg

Since 2008, Leesburg has been more than just a place to live – it's been home. I've experienced its unique charm firsthand, residing in all four quadrants, including the vibrant downtown. I've shared its growth, challenges, and triumphs, feeling a deep connection to its residents.

After having our second child, finding a house within our budget in Leesburg was a challenge, but it was something my family and I wanted to prioritize. A move to a rural area could've been financially simpler, but our hearts were set. We cherish the spirit of First Fridays, the vibrant Flower Show, the deliciousness of Solo Pizza and "Gas Station Thai," and the joy of exploring the bike trails and charming downtown streets.

Leesburg is where we belong, and I will be honored to serve as your voice on Town Council.

  • Traffic

Traffic congestion, whether downtown or on major roads, is a shared pain point for many Leesburg residents. I understand this frustration and recognize the Town's ongoing efforts to address it. My goal is to build upon those efforts by advocating for balanced solutions that prioritize both vehicle flow and pedestrian safety.

We need smart, cost-effective infrastructure upgrades that improve traffic flow without compromising livability or pedestrian comfort.

This requires collaboration with residents, businesses, and transportation authorities to develop a comprehensive strategy that works for everyone.

I'm committed to leading the way towards a Leesburg with less congestion and a more vibrant, walkable downtown.

  • Downtown & Local Businesses

As a longtime downtown resident, I've witnessed Leesburg's remarkable transformation. Our historic streets have blossomed into a vibrant hub for food, drinks, family fun, and unique shops.

But there is a delicate balance between increased development and the historic charm that makes Leesburg such a unique community, which is why I don’t believe in development for the sake of development.

My vision is to build a nurturing environment for the small businesses that make Leesburg uniquely Leesburg. These locally owned businesses are vital to our community, as they foster a strong community spirit. I'm a passionate advocate for First Fridays and other downtown events that celebrate our unique character.

By streamlining processes for residents and our local businesses, it will allow our small businesses to thrive, and set the foundation for an environment where more locally-owned businesses can open their doors faster and contribute to the economic and social vibrancy of Leesburg.
